Assistant Principal

Originally from Belle Glade Florida, Dr. Paul Collins completed undergraduate and masters level studies at The University of Central Florida and Florida A&M University. In addition to graduating with high academic honors, he also played baseball on the collegiate level and was selected as an Academic All-American during his senior year.

Dr. Collins served several years as a professional educator and school administrator in Florida Public Schools. Additionally, he has worked in various roles with the Marva Collins Preparatory School of Cincinnati, OH, an independent educational institution. He has worked with American military dependents during summers on U.S. military bases in Panama City Florida, Yukusoka Japan, and Oahu Hawaii.

Dr. Collins completed Ph.D. studies in Educational Leadership at Miami University of Ohio. During that time, he was able to conduct doctoral research in Ghana, West Africa. He also served in the capacity of Teaching Associate while at Miami. In this position he taught undergraduate courses, as well as, advised undergraduate students.

Upon completing doctoral studies, Dr. Collins went on to serve as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Education at Baldwin-Wallace College. He taught courses in Educational Foundations and Early Childhood Education. In addition, he served on several divisional committees, as well as, advised students.

For six years, Dr. Collins served proudly as a 2nd grade teacher at Factory Shoals Elementary School. He was named the 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year for Factory Shoals Elementary and also represented FSES as one of the eight Douglas County Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalists. He also taught reading at Turner Middle School where 100% of his students (five class periods) either met or exceeded on the 2013-2014 Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT).

He then went on to serve as Assistant Principal of Burnett Elementary School for three years. Currently, Dr. Collins is the Assistant Principal of Beulah Elementary. At Beulah, where both Mono-Language classrooms and Dual Language Immersion classrooms exist; the Bees motto is “Where learning takes flight!” He is proud to be a part of the Beulah Bees family!
